Our Story
Building a Thoughtful AI Practice in Malaysia
Bakti AI started with a simple observation: most Malaysian businesses want to engage with AI but don't know how to start without overextending their teams or budgets.
Back to HomeWho We Are
Our Mission and Approach
Bakti AI was founded in Ipoh, Perak in 2018 by a team of data scientists and organisational consultants who had spent years working across Malaysian industries — from manufacturing to financial services. We saw the same pattern repeating: organisations were sitting on valuable data and struggling with risk visibility, while their teams remained uncertain about how AI tools could help them day-to-day.
Our response was to build a practice focused on three things: making AI approachable, keeping it grounded in real business problems, and ensuring that the people inside an organisation feel equipped — not replaced — by the technology.
We are a small, focused team. That means every client engagement gets senior attention, not junior handoffs. When we take on a project, we are genuinely invested in what you're trying to achieve.
Our Mission
To help Malaysian organisations integrate AI in ways that are practical, ethical, and lasting — without unnecessary complexity or disruption to existing teams.
Our Vision
A Malaysia where AI is a standard part of how organisations manage risk, design products, and measure performance — with the people inside those organisations leading the way.
Our Values
Honesty in what AI can and cannot do. Respect for the people whose roles are touched by technology. Transparency in how we work and how we price our services.
The People
Our Team
A small group of specialists who have spent years working at the intersection of data science, business operations, and adult learning.

How We Work
Quality Standards & Professional Protocols
Every engagement at Bakti AI follows consistent standards — regardless of the project size or service type.
Data Protection Compliance
All client data handling follows the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Data processing agreements are in place before any sensitive information is shared.
Documented Deliverables
Every engagement produces written documentation — no informal verbal summaries. Deliverables are reviewed with clients before finalisation.
Ethical AI Standards
We reference international AI ethics frameworks — including UNESCO's AI Recommendation — when advising on model design, data sourcing, and deployment scope.
Senior-Led Delivery
No work is subcontracted without client knowledge. All analysis, facilitation, and recommendations are led by a named Bakti AI team member.
Transparent Communication
We provide regular project updates and flag scope changes as soon as they arise — not at the final review. Clients are never surprised by the direction of an engagement.
Post-Engagement Review
We schedule a follow-up session 30 to 60 days after delivery to check whether recommendations are working in practice and to address any questions that have emerged.
AI Expertise Rooted in Malaysian Business Reality
Bakti AI operates from Ipoh, Perak — a city with a thriving mix of manufacturing, trading, and professional services businesses. This is our home market, and we understand the specific regulatory context, labour dynamics, and industry pressures that shape how technology adoption happens here.
Our work spans operational risk management, conversational interface design, and AI performance evaluation. In each area, we bring not just technical knowledge but practical consulting experience — the kind that comes from sitting inside organisations and watching how decisions are actually made.
We hold membership in the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) ecosystem and engage regularly with AI governance discussions at the national level. Our approach is informed by academic research and field experience in equal measure.
